This month's edition of the CGRC International Research Workshop is built around the theme : "Statistical Analysis for Ph.D. research". CGRC research workshops provide graduate students with guidance for conceiving and writing articles , thesis prospectuses and dissertations. Often cross-disciplinary, the workshops also offer faculty the opportunity to share drafts of their scholarly work and receive insightful feedback.
This month, statistics expert; Raghul Gandhi (Ph.D.); has agreed to espouse (in practical terms) the uses and applications of statistical measures for academic research. We will spend three hours one-on-one with him where he will show the use of SPSS and JASP software applications for this purpose.
After the workshop, participants will be able to :
- Delineate dependent and independent variables
- Formulate appropriate research hypothesis
- Identify trends in strucured and semi-structured data sets
- Select appropriate statistical tools applicable to their specific study
- Apply the same to analyse multiple data sets
- Network with current Ph.D students across the globe
- Get further technical support for their work from the center for statistics
- Use SPSS and JASP for statistical analysis
- Effectively present research results
This month's workshop will be held online. Participants will join remotely from their local stations via a dedicated meeting url provided after registration. Persons who have attended a previous edition of CGRC workshop will receive a 50% scholarship which covers the registration fee and free access to proceedings from the workshop.
